After observing a couple of photographers, I noticed that they use different props and lighting gear to enhance their photography. I took to Amazon to have a little browse of (mostly) affordable accessories that I think every photographer needs. All items will be linked, so get ready to get spendy!
This is an amazing wide-angle large aperture lens that everybody needs to get their hands on. Judging from the sharp images this lens produces, you’d think one used a Canon L-series lens! What I like most about it is its versatility, especially for a prime lens. You’re able to get that perfect bokeh when you drop the aperture down to 1.4 and it’s perfect for events too! As it’s suited for full-frame cameras, you’ll be looking at a 38.4mm focal length on a cropped sensor, but that isn’t really an issue for some. This lens is a bit of an investment as it retails at £799 on Amazon.
This lighting source is made for video recording purposes, but I find it useful when shooting in. dark places. If you can’t afford a flashgun , this is also a great alternative, although not as powerful. Challenge your creativity by adding lighting to your photographs and discover what you can create!
I find myself constantly buying new memory cards because I always seem to lose mine, even if I put them in a “safe” place. This is why a memory card holder is needed. This case is small enough to fit into your camera bag and shock resistant so your cards stay protected. You can get one that hold 12 or 24 cards, depending on what you need.
I cannot recommend a prism enough to those of you stuck in a creative rut! Play around with light reflections and add super cool effects to your photos by simply placing this prism at different angles in front of your lens! It can be a bit challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, you won’t want to stop! It’s quickly become one of my favourite accessories. I’m going to do a photo series using a prism, so watch this space!
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you found this useful.
